Ekiti Youths Empowered in Agribusiness Initiative
Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria – A recently concluded agribusiness empowerment project has successfully equipped 33 Ekiti youths with the skills and resources to launch their own sustainable ventures in poultry and fish farming. Initially designed to support 30 participants, the initiative exceeded its target, demonstrating a strong interest and need for such programs within the state.
The intensive training sessions were expertly delivered by experienced facilitators from Kenny Kay Ventures and FarmBene, covering crucial aspects of modern poultry and fish farming techniques, business management, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Participants not only benefited from comprehensive training but also received vital startup kits to kickstart their agribusinesses. These kits included juvenile fish, fish feed, poultry birds, and poultry feed, providing a tangible foundation for their entrepreneurial journeys. Furthermore, the project incorporated a crucial mentorship component aimed at ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of these new agricultural enterprises.
The successful implementation of this initiative has been hailed as a significant step towards youth empowerment and job creation within Ekiti State’s agricultural sector.
